Denver

Denver is located approximately 17 miles north-northeast of Lancaster.  Denver was first settled c. 1863 and was first known as Bucherthal, then Union Station, finally being named for the city in Colorado.

Denver has two distinct personalities.  An old established town is the heart of Denver being residential and commercial, and another portion along PA Rt. 272 which is almost exclusively highway commercial catering to the traffic on that highway as well as the nearby Pennsylvania Turnpike.  Denver is also accessible by US 222.

In recent years Denver has become a distribution center for numerous firms with it´s ready access to US 222 as a north-south route and the Pennsylvania Turnpike as an east-west corridor.

Denver and the surrounding area have seen strong residential growth in recent years offering excellent commuter access to Reading, Lancaster, Harrisburg and the Philadelphia suburban business centers.

The Borough of Denver is part of the Cocalico School District.
