Elizabethtown 

Located approximately nineteen miles northwest of Lancaster, the borough is the home of Elizabethtown College and The Masonic Homes of Pennsylvania.  A tavern was located at present day Elizabethtown about 1750 and the first lots were laid out and sold in 1795.  The town was named in honor of Elizabeth Hughes, wife of the founder.

Elizabethtown College was established in 1899. 

  

The Borough of Elizabethtown is in The Elizabethtown Area School District.
