Manheim is located approximately 11 miles north-northwest of Lancaster. It was founded by Henry William Stiegel in 1762. Manheim became an early manufacturing center of glass, cabinetry, clocks and printing. The Borough of Manheim has continued to be a small manufacturing centered town through the twentieth and into the twenty-first century.
