Quarryville

Located approximately fourteen miles south-southeast of Lancaster, the Quarryville area was first settled about 1791.   During it\'s early history Quarryville was an unincorporated place and was originally within Bart Township.  It was seperated with Eden Township when that township was formed in 1855 and finally incorporated as a Borough in 1892.

Originally called Barr\'s Quarries, Quarryville was named for the noted quarries in the area one of which operated into the 1960\'s.  Today Quarryville serves as the center of the entire southern part of Lancaster County.



 

The Borough of Quarryville is within The Solanco School District.
